Success Stories

Here is what it’s all about…SUCCESS!

I cannot think of anything more fun and stimulating than to inspire someone that has their entire professional life ahead of them! Being a mentor for these young adults as they progress and grow during the transition into “adulting” is incredibly rewarding! The magic happens when they actually realize their full potential by just taking the time to discover their unique strengths. Then, the exploration opens up where they can begin to align to where they are truly meant to be the HAPPIEST and most fulfilled in their career.

Never settle…everything is possible!

“Shannon was available at a moments notice for my daughter, Taylor, as she went through a demanding first few interviews. Her support and direction through the process not only helped Taylor shine personally but also helped her secure her first career in sales. Taylor is now well equipped with confidence and the ability to crush any interview thanks to Shannon’s mentoring.

As a parent, you want your child to achieve success and Shannon was such a huge factor!

Darlene, Parent

“I was a collegiate athlete on an academic and athletic volleyball scholarship. I have always believed myself to be a very driven and motivated individual and I prided myself on being a leader. Being one of the only freshmen to play all 4 years of my career, by the end of my senior year, I had received Senior Female Athlete of the Year, a PacWest Championship, multiple Players of the week nominations and broke a 20-year school record in digs for Women’s Volleyball.

When I graduated, all I had ever known was athletics. Making that transition was by far one of the hardest things I had to do searching for a career. I actually had no idea where to even start. So then I met Shannon Johnson…She is a spectacular woman and has an incredible understanding of building personal relationships and how to network/market yourself to a company. Her drive and compassion is an energy that she puts in her work, making your goals her goals to help you stand out and get hired.

Any job is yours with a mentor like Shannon, and I was lucky enough to have a forever friend as a result!

Taylor, College Grad

“Shannon and I had an immediate connection, and I found her passion for guiding young adults into the workforce as incredibly inspiring and also comforting. Upon entering my first year at school, I struggled with the question that everyone faces when starting their freshman year- what do I want to do and how do I get there?

I knew that Shannon was put into my life for a reason that summer before freshman year; to guide me through my collegiate career and help me answer that very question. We consistently make it a priority monthly to discuss my academics, career interests, and strategies for reaching my goals.

I landed my first internship with the help of Shannon’s expertise in resumé building, interview prep and her strong connections in the field of my major.

I am immensely grateful that I have a resource like Shannon by my side. Shannon has given me the ability to take an outside perspective of myself; to target my strengths, appraise my values, and evaluate the fundamentals of me— in order to discover the career where I will be happiest & thrive.”

Tanner, College Junior

“Working with Shannon through multiple workshops has helped me identify my strengths so when it is time to interview I know what I bring to the table. Through certain exercises, Shannon was able to break down the walls to help me identify who I am and what my vision is.

Shannon made me realize that discovering my strengths is so important if I want to really pursue my most fulfilling career path.

Working with Shannon has not only helped me in an interview setting but interacting with her has helped me develop confidence in myself and the ability to believe that I can achieve anything I want by taking initiative and action in my future career aspirations. As a result, I began approaching my job search in a completely different way by searching for what the best fit for me truly is.”

Neil, Recent Grad

“I worked so hard to earn my degree after a long transition from Junior College to my 4-year University. I was anxious to find the right career path for me, and was so unsure which path to pursue.

Shannon helped build my confidence when I needed it the most.

Throughout the intense interview process, she kept me positive & focused, which turned out in landing the job best suited for me.”

Sydney, Recent Grad

“I have been a high-achieving, dedicated student-athlete my entire life. When it came time to pursue the internship that would be best suited for me, I knew I needed to create a solid resumé that brought out my best qualities and get me noticed. Shannon was able to help me do that by bringing out all of my strengths.

I am proud to say I landed the perfect internship with the Special Olympics Minnesota.

I have the opportunity to work directly & support SOMN receptionists who are athletes with intellectual disabilities; coaching them to accept, prioritize & complete tasks. I also assist my site supervisor with competition and health projects. I also help coordinate & work events contributing to state competitions & health screenings for Special Olympics athletes.

Shannon has been an amazing mentor by helping to empower me to see where I will be happiest and most successful in the real world.”
